The Ochiltree County Commissioners approved the lease agreement for the farmland adjacent to the airport. The court also approved the purchase of a tractor and two riding mowers, at their meeting Monday..

The tractor will be used in Precinct 4 and the riding mowers will be used in Precinct 3 for the cemetery. The cost of the machines is not known as the county does not know how much trade-in will be allowed against the cost of the new machines.

The bid for the use of the farmland at the airport was awarded to Jason Schickedanz. Steven Waide put in a bid of $32 per acre. The Schickedanz bid was $45.01 per acre.

Also at the meeting, the commissioners were told that state funds of over $39,000 that were available for a grant application. If awarded, the funds would help pay for the security cameras at the new jail. The commissioners approved applying for the grant.
