PHS seniors receive over $320,000 in scholarships

Over $321,000 in local scholarships were awarded to Perryton High School seniors at the annual awards assembly, with the presentation of 40 scholarships from local businesses, organizations and individuals.

Several honors were also announced. Chosen as Best All Around in the senior class were Kynleigh Vela and Griffin Brosowske. Named to Who’s Who were Fabian Borunda, Trey Butler, Hadley DeSantiago, Mads Hansen, Klaudia Johnson, Bryan Moreno-Lopez, Hannah North, Dillon Pshigoda, Sarah Reihm, Isaiah Tanner and Cole Townsend.

Best Citizens in each class were named. They were freshmen Saleen Nyman and Zane Eyler, sophomores Brittyn LeCompte and Jacob Schollenbarger, juniors Haylee Cator and Zeke Farney and seniors Hannah North and Cole Townsend.

Math teacher Allan Herbert presented the Excellence in Education Award, in honor of former PHS math teacher Ray Turner, to PHS teacher April Ojeda.

In addition, Brenna Vela with the Pathways scholarship program presented full two-year books and tuition awards to 23 PHS seniors from the Pathways program who have committed to Frank Phillips College Allen Campus for next fall.
