The Ranger basketball team avenged their only district loss of the season at home on Tuesday. The Rangers were defeated after a slow start in Dalhart by the score of 57-53 earlier in the year. Perryton needed a win to stay in first place in the district standings. Dalhart needed a victory to remain solidly in the playoff hunt.

Dalhart entered Tuesday’s game with a definite defensive plan. That plan was to try and curtail Perryton’s leading scorer Griffin Bro-sowske, The Wolves managed to hold Brosowske below his season average, but other Rangers answered the call offensively. The diffusely spread offense helped the Rangers pick up the win by the final score of 64-56.

The Rangers started a bit slowly in Tuesday’s game as well. Dalhart led by the score of 11-7 at the end of the first quarter. Brosowske kept the Rangers close by scoring 4 points. Maurice Limas began his most productive night of the season with a three-point basket in the first quarter.
