The temperatures were cool, and the air was heavy and damp at the annual Wolf Creek Classic Cross Country Meet on Saturday. The heavy air made the challenging course more so as runners struggled to fill their lungs with air. The gasps for air could be heard as the runners took on the heartbreaking challenge of the hill named Big Bubba.

The course took its toll on most runners but was no challenge for Perryton’s Adrian Ceniceros. He won the varsity 3-mile race with a time of 16:53.46. His time was three seconds faster than the second-place finisher, Okbay Tewelde from Guymon. Ceniceros ran over 14 seconds faster than the third-place finisher from Guymon named Natnael Weldemichael.
