Daniels vaults well at state track meet

The competition at the UIL 4A state track meet was tough. The pole vault competition was highly contested with several athletes battling for the win at the top heights. Any of the top six finishers in the meet had a chance to win the championship.

Perryton’s standout pole vaulter and Perryton High School record holder was in the mix. Brandon Daniels had already proven his right to be there, but he also proved he was one of the top five vaulters in the state 4A ranks. The trip was long and the humidity high as the vaulters took to the pit at Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas on Saturday.
