Grover Crum Rites set for Crum

Grover L. Crum, 96, of Perryton, died May 5, 2018. Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Eugene Weinette officiating, assisted by Rev. Mark Metzger. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. He was born March 8, 1922 in Ochiltree County, and married Cleo Turner on Sept. 17, 1943 in Perryton. He served in the U.S. Army in Alaska during World War II as an anti-tank gunner. He was a farmer and rancher. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Crum; his parents, M.H. and Susie B. (Dodd) Crum; and a great-granddaughter, Shelby Gillespie. He is survived by his wife, Cleo, of Perryton; one son, Mike Crum of Reydon, OK; two daughters, Nancy Weinette of Booker and Connie Gillespie of South Fork, CO; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174; or to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 987, Perryton.
