David Jay Daniel passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque, NM on Dec. 23, 2017. He was born May 21, 1957 in Perryton, to the late John C. Daniel and Betty Pugh Daniel. David attended Perryton schools until high school. He graduated high school from Fountain Valley High School in Fountain, CO. He attended the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville where he received his BSBA in Finance & Banking and Economics in 1982-83. He married Margaret Della Heimoz, Dec. 28, 1981 in Eureka Springs, AR. David was destined to be a banker at an early age as he kept close track of his money. He worked for the FDIC Division of Liquidation as a bank examiner in Dallas and eventually chose Albuquerque as his home for the last 30 years. There he worked with The Bank of New Mexico, Charter Bank, Sunrise Bank of Albuquerque and Washington Federal Bank. David was also a partner in the family farm and ranch business in Perryton and after retirement, he enjoyed his time spent at the family ranch taking photographs and hunting for Indian artifacts. David is survived by his mother, Betty Daniel; his wife, Della of Albuquerque; a son, Hunter Pearson Daniel (Priscilla) of San Diego, CA; and a daughter, Anne Lauren Daniel, of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by siblings: Brodie Daniel, John Daniel (Lori) of Perryton, Katherine Goforth (Tom) of Edmond, OK, Barbara Bratton (Willard) Fayetteville, AR and Tab Daniel (Kay) Lubbock. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family will hold a wake on Jan. 19 from 5- 7p.m. at the Daniel Ranch. A graveside service will be held Jan. 20, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Ochiltree County Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Museum of the Plains, Perryton, or a memorial of one’s choice
