COVID-19 cases in county plunge again

Active COVID-19 cases in Ochiltree County have fallen again.

According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 dropped to 13, down from 22 last Thursday afternoon.

The state’s data shows the county’s total confirmed Coronavirus cases now stand at 1,363, with an additional 216 probable cases.

The state also says there have been an estimated 1,528 recoveries in Ochiltree County and 38 confirmed deaths.

The data in the state’s website can lag at least a few days out of date, due to the high volume of cases TDSHS must process.

Medical experts emphasize that the virus remains a serious threat. The COVID-19 online dashboard for the Texas Department of State Health Services indicated there had been 1,398 new cases of the virus across the State of Texas on Thursday afternoon, along with 10 newly reported fatalities.
