Project Christmas Card donations
Panhandle Professional Women is once again sponsoring Project Christmas Card this year. All proceeds benefit scholarships for local youth. Anyone can participate by making a donation in the green boxes found at local retailers and businesses labeled Project Christmas Card. Complete the envelope and drop in the box. There will be a Christmas Greetings page in the Herald preceding Christmas if you make the first deadline of December 13. If you are unable to find a box in which to donate, please call Maria Gonzales at 806-434-3401.
Rifle and Pistol Club sets monthly meeting
The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Building. The club will be discussing new and ongoing projects. All are welcome — new memberships and renewals will be available. Concerned or at-risk people should wear masks. American Legion to hold monthly meeting
The American Legion Post 254 will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 6, at the Senior Citizen Center. A meal will be served at 6 p.m., and the meeting itself will begin at 7 p.m. All veterans are welcome to attend.

Hospice Tree of Love set up for donations
The OGH Hospice Volunteers welcome donations and memorial donations to the Hospice Tree of Love. The Hospice Volunteers of OGH is a non-profit organization serving terminally ill patients and their families in this area. You can make checks payable to OGH Hospice Volunteers and mail to OGH Hospice Volunteers, 3101 Garrett Drive in Perryton. Donations are tax deductible.

Blood drive set at FPC
Coffee Memorial Blood Center will hold a community blood drive on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 2:30-6 p.m. at Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus. Photo identification will be required. Donors must be at least 17 years old, but donors who are 16 may donate with a signed parental consent form. You can complete the blood drive questionnaire online on the day of the drive only at www.giftoflife.org. PHS Theatre sets Christmas play
Perryton High School’s Theatre Department will have a public performance of their Christmas play, “The Hallmakr Channel Christmas Wonderthon” by Don Zolidis, on Friday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium. The Theatre Boosters will also host their annual Silent Auction before and after the show. Hot chocolate, popcorn, and other goodies will also be available for purchase. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
Wreaths Across America planned
The Wolf Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is planning the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Ochiltree County Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m., the same time the ceremony is taking place in Arlington National Cemetery. The wreaths are $15 each. The wreaths can only be used at Ochiltree County Cemetery. A short ceremony will be held, then the wreaths will be placed on the graves of veterans buried at the cemetery. The deadline to place an order is Thanksgiving.
Library holding Story Time for kids
Perry Memorial Library is holding Story Time on Wednesdays from from 10-11 a.m. The program will be held every Wednesday through March. There’s no charge for the program, which is open to kids ages 2-4.

Producers can update the Ochiltree County Farm Service Agency any time, whether it’s new contact information, changed bank accounts, or if you’ve picked up a new farm. Contact the FSA at 806-435-6597, ext. 2.
Crisis center accepting limited donations
The Panhandle Crisis Center Resale Store is accepting only one box of household items or decor per donor. No clothing donations will be accepted at this time.
Child Find underway
The Perryton ISD is looking for children ages 3-21 years who may be slow in developing communication skills, social interactions, walking skills and or have major physical disabilities. We want to give your child the chance to get the extra help her/she needs if the disability interferes with his/her education.
