Hospice Tree of Love set up for donations

The OGH Hospice Volunteers welcome donations and memorial donations to the Hospice Tree of Love. The Hospice Volunteers of OGH is a non-profit organization serving terminally ill patients and their families in this area. You can make checks payable to OGH Hospice Volunteers and mail to OGH Hospice Volunteers, 3031 Garrett Drive in Perryton. Donations are tax deductible.

Snack Pak 4 Kids to meet Nov. 29

Snack Pak 4 Kids will meet Monday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Williams Cafeteria to pack snack bags. Masks are optional, and hand sanitizer will be provided. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 340, Perryton, TX 79070.

Blood drive set at FPC

Coffee Memorial Blood Center will hold a community blood drive on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 2:30-6 p.m. at Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus. Photo identification will be required. Donors must be at least 17 years old, but donors who are 16 may donate with a signed parental consent form. You can complete the blood drive questionnaire online on the day of the drive only at www.giftoflife.org. PHS Theatre sets Christmas play

Perryton High School’s Theatre Department will have a public performance of their Christmas play, “The Hallmakr Channel Christmas Wonderthon” by Don Zolidis, on Friday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium. The Theatre Boosters will also host their annual Silent Auction before and after the show. Hot chocolate, popcorn, and other goodies will also be available for purchase. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

VFC to be Operation Christmas Child site

Wreaths Across America planned

The Wolf Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is planning the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Ochiltree County Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m., the same time the ceremony is taking place in Arlington National Cemetery. The wreaths are $15 each. The wreaths can only be used at Ochiltree County Cemetery. A short ceremony will be held, then the wreaths will be placed on the graves of veterans buried at the cemetery. The deadline to place an order is Thanksgiving.

Rehearsal set for Handel’s Messiah

Rehearsals for this year’s performance of Handel’s Messiah has been scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 18. All rehearsals will begin at 7 p.m. at the Perryton High School choir room. A final rehearsal on Sunday, Nov. 28, at 2:30 p.m. will be held at First United Methodist Church, with the performance set for that evening at 6 p.m. For more information, call 435-3633, ext. 232 or email kharris@ perrytonisd.com.

Library holding Story Time for kids

Perry Memorial Library is holding Story Time on Wednesdays from from 10-11 a.m. The program will be held every Wednesday through March. There’s no charge for the program, which is open to kids ages 2-4.

Producers can update the Ochiltree County Farm Service Agency any time, whether it’s new contact information, changed bank accounts, or if you’ve picked up a new farm. Contact the FSA at 806-435-6597, ext. 2.

Crisis center accepting limited donations

The Panhandle Crisis Center Resale Store is accepting only one box of household items or decor per donor. No clothing donations will be accepted at this time.

OGH Pink Ladies seeking volunteers

The Ochiltree General Hospital Ladies’ Auxiliary is seeking volunteers to serve the hospital and its patients. To join or for more information, contact any of the Pink Ladies through the OGH Gift Shop.

Library storm shelter open for emergencies

The storm shelter at Perry Memorial Library is again open in case of tornados. Due to the large number of people who come to the shelter, the library is requiring that everyone 10 or older must be wearing a mask when they enter the shelter. No masks will be given — you must bring your own.

Crime Stoppers offers shredding service

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers is offering a free document shredding service. A blue bin has been placed in the lobby of the Perryton Police Department for the public to place their documents to be destroyed. A shredding service will pick up the container and dispose of the contents.

Lions seeking eyeglasses

The Perryton Lions Club is collecting used eyeglasses for recycling. Anyone who has eyeglasses that they can donate is asked to contact any Lion.
