Tornado hits city in big storm of 1933

Sweeping down behind a cloud of dust that turned mid-afternoon into the blackest night, a tornado swept over Perryton and this community Friday, July 14, 1933, coming in at 3:30 o’clock, accompanied by a downpour of rain, leaving a trail of wreckage behind when the storm abated 30 minutes later.
