Snack Pak 4 Kids set Feb. 1
Snack Pak 4 Kids will meet Monday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Williams Cafeteria to pack snack bags. Masks will be required, and hand sanitizer will be provided. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 340, Perryton, TX 79070.
Blood drive planned Feb. 2
The Coffee Memorial Blood Center will host a blood drive on Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 1-6 p.m. at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. A photo ID is required. Donors must be at least 17 years old; donors who are 16 may donate with a signed parental consent form. Antibody testing will be done for all donors. Northeast Panhandle Crops Conference set
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Ochiltree County will host a crop production meeting for area crop producers on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at the Ochiltree County Expo Center in Perryton. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. with programs starting at 9 a.m. and finishing at noon. Seminar topics will include Irrigation Economic Efficiencies, Mid to Late Season Wheat Management for Top Yields, and Management Considerations for High Yielding Grain Sorghum. Registration fee for the meeting is $10. Producers attending will also have the opportunity for two general CEU’s for their pesticide licenses. For producers wishing to attend online via Zoom that option will also be provided by request. Rifle and Pistol Club sets monthly meeting
The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Building. The club will be discussing new and ongoing projects. All are welcome — new memberships and renewals will be available. Concerned or at-risk people should wear masks. Pistol Club to hold silhouette match
The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly Silhouette Indoor Match on Sunday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Building. Competitors will fire at paper silhouettes of chickens, pigs, turkeys, and rams at 50 feet. Competitors will fire a total of 10 shots at each animal silhouette, with the string of fire at five shots in two and a half minutes. The competition will be for .22 long rifles and pistols only. Entry fee is $5 per gun, and you may enter as many as you wish. Eye and ear protection is required, and social distancing and masks are encouraged. Baseball and softball signups set at PAC
Sign-ups for baseball and softball have begun at the Perryton Activity Center. The deadline to sign up is Friday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. Boys and girls ages 4-15 are encouraged to play. Fees for PAC members are $35; fees for non-PAC members are $65. The fees cover the baseball and softball programs only and don’t allow access into the PAC. This season’s games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays beginning on April 5; T-Ball and Parent Pitch games will start on April 12.
Museum seeking 2020 memories
The Museum of the Plains is collecting residents memories on 2020, and what it meant to people today and moving forward so that future generations will understand how 2020 affected us locally. They are interested in pictures, blogs, diaries, letters or artifacts associated with 2020, as well as a variety of perspectives from children, parents, business owners, grandparents, teenagers, clubs church groups and organizations. The Panhandle Crisis Center Resale Store has resumed accepting donations as of Monday, Dec. 14.
FPC starts Finishers group

Officers to deliver groceries, help
The Perryton Police Department, in conjunction with United Supermarket and Lowe’s Market, are offering grocery delivery to any “sheltered in place” seniors ages 60 or older. Those interested can place their orders by calling Lowe’s between 8-10 a.m. or United between 7-9 a.m. on Monday or Thursday. A police officer will place the grocies on your porch or bring them inside. If they enter the residence, they will wear a N95 respirator and gloves for your protection. While they are there, they would also be happy to take out the trash, replace a light bulb, fix a broken drawer, or do whatever they can to make shelter in place easier during the COVID-19 crisis.
