Band Boosters selling trees, wreaths
The Perryton Band Boosters will be selling live Fraser fir trees and wreaths. Tree sizes range from 5 to 9 or 10 feet, with prices from $80-$160. The wreaths are available in many sizes from 14-40 inches, and range in price from $19 to $100. The deadline to order is Thursday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m. All orders must be paid by the order deadline. Delivery date is tentatively set for Monday, Nov. 30, at All Seasons, 822 S. Main. Delivery is available for an additional $5. Proceeds will benefit the PHS and PJH band programs. First Baptist Church to serve pulled pork
First Baptist Church is having a youth fall fundraiser carry-out meal on Sunday, Nov 15. The menu is pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, chips and chocolate cake. The meal is by donation only, and can be picked up at the FBC Fellowship Hall at 415 S Baylor, Perryton. Pick-up time begins at noon, and will serve until the food is gone.
Book Fair is underway
The Jennie June Book Fair has begun again. It will continue at Perry Memorial Library until the end of November. The Jennie June Club invites everyone to come out for special deals on books for 50 cents and under which support the library programs.
FPC to start Finishers group
Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus is starting a new program called FPC Finishers on Nov. 19 from 5:30-6:30 p.m at the college at 2314 S. Jefferson. 4-H begins fruit, cookie dough fundraiser
Ochiltree County 4-H has begun their annual Fresh Country fruit and cookie dough fundraiser, which will help supoprt all phases of 4-H, including project supplies, camps, leader training, contest entry fees, and awards. Order forms can be obtained from any 4-H member or from the Extension office at the Expo Building. All order forms must be returned to the Expo by 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16. Crisis Center store to accept donations
The Panhandle Crisis Center’s Resale Store will resume accepting donations on Monday, Oct. 19.
Rifle Club to hold Steel Challenge Match
The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly Steel Challenge Match on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Building. Competitors will be shooting at paper plates at 50 feet — three plate array and three different arrays. Competitors can fire 22 LR rifles and pistols. Fees are $5 per gun — shoot as many as you wish. Competitors will need approximately 50 rounds per gun. Eye and ear protection is required, and social distancing and masks are encouraged. PISD expands free meals
The USDA has expanded the free food service to include all children ages 1-18, including virtual learners. All “grab and go” meals in Perryton will be picked in the PISD administration parking lot (behind Williams Intermediate). Breakfast will be available from 8-8:30 am. and lunch will be from 10:30-11 a.m. Students in school will continue to receive meals until Dec. 31, unless federal funds run out.

Officers to deliver groceries, help
The Perryton Police Department, in conjunction with United Supermarket and Lowe’s Market, are offering grocery delivery to any “sheltered in place” seniors ages 60 or older. Those interested can place their orders by calling Lowe’s between 8-10 a.m. or United between 7-9 a.m. on Monday or Thursday. A police officer will place the grocies on your porch or bring them inside. If they enter the residence, they will wear a N95 respirator and gloves for your protection. While they are there, they would also be happy to take out the trash, replace a light bulb, fix a broken drawer, or do whatever they can to make shelter in place easier during the COVID-19 crisis.
Crime Stoppers offers shredding service
Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers is offering a free document shredding service. A blue bin has been placed in the lobby of the Perryton Police Department for the public to place their documents to be destroyed. A shredding service will pick up the container and dispose of the contents.
Lions seeking eyeglasses
The Perryton Lions Club is collecting used eyeglasses for recycling. Anyone who has eyeglasses that they can donate is asked to contact any Lions Club member.
