The annual Rotary Pie Contest was held on Saturday, Feb. 22, with over 90 delicious pies and desserts entered into the competition.Bruce Roberson of Perryton was named the grand prize winner and was awarded $100.

At the end of the candidate filing period for the May 3 general election, the Perryton School Board race added another candidate, and the Perryton City Council election drew only the incumbents.The school board election will have three candidates vying for two positions up on the board.

Perryton High School’s Theatre Department will hold public performances of “Steel Magnolias,” the PHS entry for the UIL One Act Play competition.Performances will be held at the PHS auditorium on Friday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 1, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 2, at 3 p.m.

Dick Boxwell was named Citizen of the Year at the Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet on Thursday, Feb. 20, held at the Expo Center.The award was presented by last year’s recipient Brady Yeary, who read from the official nomination before he introduced Boxwell.
