Miller and Perez are district track champs

The District 4-4A track meet was held last week in Borger at the EJ “Jeep” Webb Track complex. The top four finishers in each event advanced to the Area Meet with a chance to advance to the Regional Meet in Lubbock. Two Rangers claimed district championships.

Lindsay Clark was cut out to be a successful educator and coach. She was a basketball star and a great student while roaming the halls of Perryton High School. She didn’t have far to look for great role models. Here father, Darin Clark, is the director of communications and safety for PISD.

Lady Whitefaces stampede the Rettes

The Hereford Lady Whiteface softball team came to town on Tuesday in a stampede. They knocked the cover off the softball on their way to a win over the Rangerettes by the final score of 27-4.

Dumas Demonettes overwhelm Rettes

The Dumas Demonette softball team jumped out to an early lead in the first inning on Monday and never took their foot off the gas. The game was played on Monday instead of the usual Tuesday in Perryton due to umpire shortages.

Ranger linksters take second in district

The Ranger golf team entered the final round of district play seven strokes behind the leading team for Canyon. The first round was held at the Hidden Hills course in Pampa. The second round was held in Dumas at the Pheasant Trails golf course.

Rettes battle in second round of district golf

Two Rangerette golfers entered the second round of district play trying to reach the top of the individual golfer leader board in order to advance to the regional round. The competition was tough as five athletes battled for the two spots.

PHS tennis competes against larger schools

The PHS tennis teams made the trip to Amarillo to play in the Amarillo Relays last week. It gave the athletes a chance to face tough competition from larger schools. “Because the Randall Tourney in February was rescheduled to April 9, this was our first big school tournament of the year.

Rangers lift at the state meet in Abilene

Two Ranger powerlifters capped off a great season with a trip toAbilene for the state meet last Saturday. While neither lifter was happy with the way the weights fell, it was still a good showing for the dominant Ranger powerlifting program.

Lady Eagles too much for the Rettes

The Rangerette softball team faced a very talented Lady Eagle team on Friday in Canyon. The Lady Eagles have a great combination of strong pitching and power hitters positioned up and down the batting order.

Rettes hounded by Borger Lady Bulldogs

The Rangerette softball team opened district play at home on Tuesday against the Borger Lady Bulldogs. Fielding errors cost the Rettes a shot at the victory despite solid hitting and good pitching. Borger jumped out to a commanding lead of 12-0 in the first two innings.
