Carl Clay Campbell, 82, of Perryton, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Amarillo.
Viewing will be Wednesday,April 22, 2026 from 1-9 p.m., and Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 9 a.m- 9 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton. services will be held Friday, April 24, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Community Worship Center in Perryton, officiated by Bob Humphreys. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton. Ar-rangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.
Carl Clay Campbell was born on December 22, 1943 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Leslie Clay Campbell and Lois Nellie Gray Campbell. His parents lived a few miles from Elmwood, Oklahoma near Clear Creek, and this is where he grew up, attending Elmwood Country School and graduated from Beaver High School. He attended Draughns Electronics School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the fall.
Carl married Bonita Harper Campbell, a high school classmate, in December of 1962 at Midway Country Church in Beaver County, Oklahoma. They made their home in Perryton for 59 years. They were married for 63 years.
Carl worked for Gordon Shackelford for about a year with his cousin Tim Campbell, running a filling station at Highway 15 and Loyola and at 15th and Main. Then he went to work for Motor Parts of Perryton, becoming co-owner after the retirement of Jerald Rutz, where he worked for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2016.
Carl is survived by his wife, Bonita, of the home; his daughter, Carla Conley and husband Sambo, of Sudan, Texas; sons Craig Campbell and wife Stefanie of Dalhart, Texas, and Curtis Campbell of Perryton, Texas; granddaughters Brandi Campbell of Hallsville, Texas and Amber Morgan of Alvin, Texas; grandson Quentin Campbell of Lubbock, Texas; and step-grandchildren Rhett Bartlett, Slavin Meyer and Sawyer Meyer.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Lois Campbell.
