Maurice K. Wilson, 92, of Perryton, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in Spearman.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Perryton with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery. Viewing/visitation will begin Thursday (6/1/23) 12 – 9 p.m., Friday (6/2/23) 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturday (6/3/23) until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Maurice was born June 27, 1930 in Perryton, to Alec and Dorthea “Dot” (Whippo) Wilson. He was a farmer/rancher in the Perryton area his whole life. He loved to quail hunt, but his passion was dancing, especially square dancing. He was a member of the Perryton Promenader’s Square Dance Club and Wheel-Go Club.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his daughters, Robbie Hogan of Ft. Worth and Shelley (David) Merkel of Cape Fair, MO; grandson, Tanner Westfall of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Shawna Lacy of Reeds Spring, MO and Stephanie (Brent) Patrick of Cape Fair, MO; great-grandchildren, Payton Westfall, Taige Cramer, Seth Stamps, Rylie Lacy, Kasen Patrick, Addi Patrick and Alli Patrick; and sister, Virgie Darnell of Waxahachie. He also leaves behind a special friend and dance partner, Sherri Guymon.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Alec and Dot Wilson; a son, David Wilson; and brothers, Leland Wilson and Ogden Wilson.
