Peggy Lasater

Peggy Ann Blackmore Lasater, 87, of Denton, passed away on March 26, 2023, at her home. She was born in Perryton on November 25, 1935, to Carl and Gladys (Holland) Blackmore.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend. She graduated from Perryton High School and moved to Denton to attend Texas Woman’s University on a LaMaster Family Scholarship to earn her teaching degree. She taught school in the Denton area for 37 years.

After retirement, she spent time travelling and bargain-hunting. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a caring, supportive, and dependable person who had a good sense of humor.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Patterson and husband, Rodney Patterson, her son, Scott Lasater, and Carolyn Galvan of Denton; sisters, Carla Tankersley of Round Rock, Janelle Cochran and her husband Harold Cochran of Perryton; brothers, Rob Blackmore of Virginia, and Bill Blackmore of Oklahoma, sister-in-laws, Carolyn Blackmore and Sharon Blackmore; two grandsons, Dusty Patterson and his wife, Atayea, and Chase Patterson and his wife, Bailey and six greatgrandchildren, Haygen, Claire, Easton, Emma, Hudson, and Bennett.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Lasater, and brothers, Richard Blackmore and Ronnie Blackmore.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 10:30 a.m. under the direction of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Interment will be held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, next to her beloved daughter, Tina Lasater, in Denton.
