Jackson rites held

Burnetha Gibson Jackson, 96, of Amarillo, died Aug. 2.2022.

Services were held Saturday, Aug. 6, at Balko Baptist church with Brother Troy Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Henson-Novak Funeral Home in Guymon, OK.

She was born Oct. 9, 1925 outside of Hooker, OK. She Hardesty Public Schools, graduating in 1944. She married H. Leon Gibson in May 1946, and lived east of Hardesty. He died in 1973. She later married Harold Jackson in 1975 and they lived in Balko, OK. He died in 1991. She was a homemaker.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edsel and Lura Delorous (Graves) Martin; one granddaughter, Natalie Gibson; three stepsons, Stanley Jackson, Danny Jackson and Charles Jackson; five sisters, Lucille Quesenberry, Nellie Stump, Maxine Smart, Louise Bennett and Phyllis Martin; and three brothers, Edsel Martin, Donald Martin and Melvin Martin.

She is survived by three sons, Gerald Gibson of Grand Lake, OK; Dennis Gibson of Hardesty, OK; and Bennie Gibson of Amarillo; one stepson, Grant D. Jackson of Billings, MT; 16 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
