Etta Bechthold, 90, of Oklahoma City, OK, formerly of Booker, died May 29, 2022.
Memorial services will be held Monday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at Booker Friends Church with Gary Mills officiating. Private family burial will be in Heart Cemetery in Booker. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
She was born Aug. 22, 1931 in Ellis County, OK.. After graduating from high school, she worked at the ASCS office. She married Ernest “Ernie” Bechthold on Sept. 25, 1949 in Lipscomb. He died in 2020.
She was a Sunday school teacher, held several church offices and was a church nursery attendant. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2015.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Dollie (Babitzke) Longhofer; two brothers, Henry Longhofer and Franklin Longhofer; and one sister, Viola Thompson.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Walton of Peck, KS, Lola Hurt of Addison and Jane Landsberger of Moore, OK; one son, Mark Bechthold of Booker; two sisters, Della Hundley of Claude and Maudine Fiel of Austin; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Booker Friends Church, P.O. Box 349, Booker TX 79005 for scholarship for children to attend Camp Quaker Haven.
