Consuelo Flores

Consuelo “Chelo” Flores Muñoz, 78, of Perryton, peacefully entered into glory on Thursday, Feb, 3, 2022.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Perryton, with Father Cesar Gomez officiating. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery.

Viewing and visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb.9, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be on Wed., Feb. 9, 2022, at 7 p.m. at Boxwell Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Chelo was born on Nov. 16, 1943, to Eulalio and Agapita Muñoz in Cieneguias, Chiuahua, Mexico. She was married to the late, Jesus Manuel Flores for 57 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Perryton.

Her unquestionable love for her family was evident in her cooking. She poured love into every morsel and was fulfilled by feeding those around her. She especially enjoyed cooking with fresh ingredients. She maintained a garden, raised chickens and loved fresh milk. Many of her recipes will be passed down for generations to come.

She is survived by her six children, Laura Mendoza and husband, Ramiro of Farnsworth, Hector Flores and wife Michelle, Octavio Flores and wife, Sandra, Benjamin Flores and wife Lila, Jesus Manuel Flores, Jr. and wife Brandi, all of Perryton and Fernando Flores of Midland; sisters, Magdalena Melendez, Rosa Muñoz, Flora Romero, Manuela Hernandez, and Elicia Moreno; brothers, Jorge Muñoz, Adrian Muñoz,and Eulalio Muñoz, Jr.; Ten grandkids, Sheana and husband Will, Bo, Selleca, Savoy, Sheadon, Daniella, Kajsa and fiancé Victor, Samantha, Rylan, Latisha and husband Caleb; and five great grand kids.

Consuelo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesus Manuel Flores; parents, Eulalio and Agapita Muñoz; three brothers, Alberto Muñoz, Fermin Muñoz, and Armando Muñoz; and grandsons, Sakoda Juarez and Sheldon Flores.
