George M. Scott, 72, of Perryton, Texas, passed away January 11, 2022 in Perryton.
George was born on March 25, 1949 in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to R. B. Scott and Ann Watson Scott. He married Donna Watt on December 1, 1979 in Liberal, Kansas. He and Donna moved from Liberal to Perryton in 1982. George was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served his community as a respiratory therapist at Ochiltree General Hospital (OGH) for 20 plus years where he was lovingly referred to as ‘Papa’ by the hospital staff whom he loved and respected. George loved woodworking and bringing joy to others through his handcrafted gifts. He lived life to the fullest, always smiling, laughing, and making jokes. George loved the Lord and was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Perryton.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Donna Watt Scott of Perryton, Texas; two daughters, Christi Crisler and her husband, Jay, of San Antonio, Texas, and Sherri Walton and her husband, Dale, of Weatherford, Texas; one brother, Gene Scott of Noble, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law Larry Smith of Hooker, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, R.B. Scott and Ann Watson Scott; and a sister, Linda Robertson.
As a result of COVID and the family’s desire to ensure the health and safety of friends and family, there will be no public memorial service. All expressions of sympathy, including flowers, cards, honorary donations to a favorite charity, or planting Memorial Trees, in honor of George, are welcome.
