Johnson rites set

Melba Johnson, 70, of Amarillo died Nov. 29, 2021.

Services were scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Raymond Holt officiating. Burial was to follow in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

She was born April 19, 1951 in Dimmitt, and attended school in Dimmitt. She lived near Houston, in California and the Texas Panhandle, including Spearman and Perryton.

She worked in customer care. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ellie (Montgomery) Wear; two brothers, Glendon Wear and Elmer Wear; and two sisters, Lorine Robison and Florence Wells.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Johnson of Amarillo; one daughter, Mary Crawford of Amarillo; two sisters, Debbie Hornsby of Ingalls, KS and Kathryn Wells of Carthage; and three grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to st. Jude Children’s Hospital, Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38148-0142.
