Dora Olena Ward, 85, of Perryton, died Oct. 7, 2021.
A memorial service and burial will be scheduled at a later date in Ochiltree Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
She was born Nov. 23, 1935 in Afton, and married Wayne Peasy Ward in Matador on Dec. 12, 1953. He died in 1991.
She worked as a custodian at Perryton High School, and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Leslie and Emma Rebecca (Mooneyham) Peak; one granddaughter, Dana Pollet; and one sister, Velma Dudley.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeannie Hastey of Elkhart, KS; one sister, Marion Jo Peak; one brother James Leslie Peak, Jr.; two grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to one’s favorite charity.
