Ernestine Shutt, 90, of Perryton, died July 26, 2021.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. at Boxwell Brothers Chapel with Marlon and Kathy Sparks officiating.
She was born Aug. 17, 1930 in Miranda City, and she grew up in Freer, graduating from Freer High School in 1947. She married J.K. Budd in August 1950, and they later returned to the family farm in Cordele. They later divorced. She married Weldon Shutt in 1973. They lived in Houston before moving to Edna, and later the Navidad area. She moved to Perryton in 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon; and her parents, Henry and Maggie Norris.
She is survived by one daughter, Vicky Black of Perryton; two sons, Ricky Budd of Victoria, Randy Budd of Tomball and Robby Budd of Edna; three step-daughers, Sherrie Reed of Hixson, TN, Debbie Huff of Houston and Robin Oakley of Cadiz, KY; one stepson, Bruce Shutt of Montgomery; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Operation Christmas Child/Samaritan’s Purse, Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
