Zack Cain, 94, of Perryton, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, in Perryton.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Ochiltree Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Zack was born on Jan. 3, 1927, to Homer Cain and Cordelia (Mcafee) Cain in Tyrone, Oklahoma. He married Evelyn Ball on Nov. 19, 1949, in Liberal, Kansas.
Zack loved hunting and fishing. He has gone to Canada and the Arctic Circle to hunt and fish. In high school, he had a job to earn money to take flight lessons. Zack was enlisted in the Army to fly planes but had to operate a tank.
Zack is survived by his daughter, Lynda Marie “Cain” Cabell of Boerne; son, Tracy Zack Cain of Pampa; grandchildren, Jodi Nalley Chisum, Rene Nalley Thornton, Kristen Cabell, Dylan Cain, Michael Cabell, Zachary Cain, and Samuel Cain. He also had nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his daughter Cindy; and his parents.
The family would like to name memorials to the Ochiltree General Hospital Hospice Volunteers, 3103 Garrett Perryton, TX, 79070 or to one’s favorite charity.
