Barry Donovan Lile

Barry Donovan Lile passed away May 5, 2021 at his home in Palm Springs, CA.

Barry was born Nov. 26, 1968, the son of Larry and Donna Lile. He graduated Perryton High School and attended Odessa College. He was a very talented musician and was obsessed with music at a young age.

He started in radio with a part time job at KEYE Radio in Perryton. After graduating high school in 1987 and moving to Odessa, he worked in radio stations at Odessa, Crane and Midland, now using the radio name Barry Donovan.

In 1990 he moved to California and after a short stint at a station in Fall-brook, he landed his dream job with KPSI Radio in Palm Springs.

Soon he co-hosted themorning show, “The Barry and Andy Show,” with Andy Taylor, where they quickly became local celebrities. The morning duo had the number one rated morning show in their region in southern California for 11 years.

The two later moved their morning show to KPLX Radio in Tucson, AZ, where they hosted their morning show for another four years, experiencing the same success in that market. Barry later moved back to Palm Springs and continued his career in production and entertainment.

Barry is survived by his son, Davin Lile of Phoenix, AZ; his parents, Donna and Larry Lile of Salado; and his brother, Bradley Lile of Kingsville.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, B.M. (Doc) and Virgie Ballenger, formerly of Perryton and Jesse and Vada Lile of Booker.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 27 at The Alibi in Palm Springs, CA.
