Byrl Hardy, 91, of Perryton, died Dec. 16, 2020.
A private family graveside service will be held Monday, Dec. 21, at Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
The funeral home will be open for viewing/visitation on Saturday, Dec. 19, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 20, from 12-9 p.m.
He was born Jan. 31, 1929 in Ochiltree County. He spent his entire life in Ochiltree County, where he was a farmer and businessman. He and his brother, Paul started an implement business. In 1976, he retired and became a full time farmer.
He was named Farmer of the Year in 1987. He was a member of Primitive Baptist Church, where he served as an elder.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deana Gardiner; his first wife, Wanda; and his parents, James and Gertrude Hardy.
He is survived by his wife, Marjory, of the home; one daughter, Donna Brittain of Yoakum; one son, Jerry Hardy of Questa, NM; two sisters, Elda Schwalk of Perryton and Faye Faries of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
