Zita F. LaMaster, 88, of Perryton, Tx passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.
A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Cesar Gomez officiating. Burial will follow at Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Rosary is scheduled for 6 p.m.on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home with vigil to follow.
The funeral home will be open for viewing/visitation on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday , Dec. 6, from 1-9 p.m.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing will be practiced and occupancy numbers will be limited. Services will be broadcast live on Boxwell Brothers Facebook page for those who wish to watch. There is a link on the website (boxwellbros.com) to access the Facebook page.
Zita was born March 12, 1932 to Peter and Mamie (Gatti) Fracchia in Memphis, TN. She married Philip LaMaster on May 8, 1954 in Perryton.
Zita devoted many years of service to the Perryton community in her volunteer efforts, which included being instrumental in organizing the Beehive Daycare Center and the Panhandle Crisis Center. She was a Red Cross volunteer for over 40 years, which included teaching first aid and CPR courses for the schools and local businesses. She was Panhandle Crisis Center volunteer for over 20 years.
In 1993, she was awarded Woman of the Year by the Perryton Professional Business Women for outstanding volunteer and named Workhorse of the Year by the Kiwanis Club. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Perryton.
Zita was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mamie Fracchia; her husband, Philip; and daughter, Belinda Weiman.
She is survived by her children Denise Black of Tyler, Jean Zuber of Ft. Collins, CO, Roger LaMaster and wife, Michelle, of Slidell, LA and Teresa Fletcher and husband, Glenn, of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren, Stephanie Arriola, William Weiman, Nichole Bond, Jacqueline Fairbanks, Kathryn Broughton, Jacqueline Gutierrez, Rik Tyler, Sydney Fildes, Sarah Fletcher, and Andrew Fletcher; 14 greatgrandchildren; and sisters Virginia Trenham and Kathie Morris of Memphis, TN.
