Jerald Rutz, 81, of Perryton, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020.
A funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church in Perryton with Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. A private family burial followed in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral home.
Jerald was born Aug. 30, 1939 in Beaver, OK to Marvin and Lydia (Meier) Rutz. He married Darla Frazier on July 27, 1963 in Follett. He owned and operated Motor Parts of Perryton for over 40 years.
He was an Eagle Scout as well as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. He served as a member of the Perryton National Bank Board for 28 years. He was very active in attending all the grandkids’ activities and functions, as well as an active supporter in the youth livestock show and sale.
He had a passion for antique cars and tractors. He love his horses and weenie dogs. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Perryton.
Jerald is survived by his wife, Darla, of the home; son, Michael Rutz and wife, Carol, of Perryton; daughter, Robin Leivo and husband, Rob, of Denver, CO; and grandchildren, Alyssa Rutz, Kaden Rutz, Garrett Rutz and Grayson Rutz, all of Perryton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Lydia Rutz; and his brother, Darrell Rutz.
