Carol Stone White

Carol White, 68, of Center, formerly of Perryton, passed away Sept. 29, 2020 at Pine Grove Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

There will be a family visitation at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020 from 6-8 p.m.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Ochiltree Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Britton officiating. Local arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Carol was born on April 16, 1952 in Casper, Wyoming to Judge Howard and Evelyn Stone. She and her family moved to Perryton in 1965, where her father became pastor of the Open Bible Church and where Howard would become county judge. Carol graduated from Perryton High School in 1970. In 1974, Carol married Joe Johnson, and they were blessed with two sons, Justin and Chad. Her boys were her first love, but her second was singing. Carol had an amazing voice and always sang at church, many weddings, funerals and some school plays.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Anthony’s and was a teller at the First National Bank, which is now FirstBank Southwest in Perryton. Carol and Joe opened Carol Lee Donuts in 1974, where she loved to have a local business but more importantly she loved to work side by side with her mom, Evelyn.

She married Dan White in 2002, and they moved to Center, where they resided until her passing. Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed spending her days snuggled up reading. She looked forward to visits from her family, where she could enjoy watching her grandkids and great-nieces play and entertain her for hours.

She is survived by her husband, Dan White of Center; two sons, Justin Johnson of Erdenheim, Pennsylvania and Chad Johnson and wife Kelsey and their children, Jett, Tinley and Graham of Perryton; one sister, Sandra Biery of Hardin, Montana; a niece Amanda Swander of Billings, Montana; and one nephew Rusty Ibison of Bozeman, Montana.

She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Evelyn Stone, and her two brothers, Larry and Robert.
