Ruby Unruh
Ruby Diana Unruh, 97, of Topeka, KS, died April 16, 2026.
A memorial service was held Thursday, April 23, at Southern Hills Mennonite Church in Topeka. Burial will be at a later date in Ochiltree Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 27, 1929 in Burton, KS and graduated from Norwich High School. She received her bachelor’s of education degree at Bethel College. She married Allison Unruh May 23, 1954 in Kingman, KS.
She was a teacher for many years in Perryton. She attended Southern Hills Mennonite Church in Topeka and was a member of the Perryton Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was also a board member of Et Cetera Shop in Liberal, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allison; her parents, David and Adina Schrag; and siblings Eldon Schrag, Lester Schrag, Glen Schrag, Myron Schrag, Allen Schrag and Bessie Schrag.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ewy and Shirley Hitt; one brother, Joe Schrag; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
