Joe D. Newman, 82, of Perryton, died March 9, 2026 in Amarillo.
Viewing will be Thursday, March 12, and Friday, March 13, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, March 14, at 1 p.m. at Key Heights Baptist Church, with Rev. Duce Cooper officiating, and assisted by Mike Leichner. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 5, 1944 in Perryton. He was a member of Key Heights Baptist Church, and ranched in the Texas Panhandle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel A. and Helen M. (Eiland) Newman.
He is survived by two sisters, Lanora Reynolds and Kathy Snyder, both of Perryton; two brothers, Bill Newman of Guymon, OK and Dale Newman of Stillwater, OK; and one stepson, Wayne Yates of Texhoma, OK.
The family suggests memorials to Key Heights Baptist Church or the Museum of the Plains.
