Brenda Vassar Frantz, 73, of Perryton, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025 in Perryton.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Southside Baptist Church in Perryton, officiated by Cody Murphy.
Burial followed at Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.
Brenda was born on November 15, 1951 in Haskell, Texas to L. G. Vassar and Ruthie Brown. She was baptized into Christ in April of 1964 at the age of 13. She graduated from high school in Knox City in 1970.
She attended college at Abilene Christian University and Tarlton State University. She moved to Morse, Texas where she had her two children. She was a member of Community Worship Center in Perryton.
Brenda moved to Perryton in 1982 when she went to work for Palo Duro Feeders. She retired from there in December of 2023, just shy of 42 years.
She married Rocky Frantz on July 18, 1998 after a 7-year courtship. During her 43 years in the Perryton area, Brenda enjoyed serving her community in multiple capacities. She was a member of the Perryton Elks Lodge #22368, where she was the secretary for two years, and she was the district sweetheart three times. She was a member of the Guymon Bowling League for five years where she went to nationals for three years.
She served the veteran community by making blankets and pillowcases for the VA nursing home. She helped with a veterans Christmas for the VA nursing home, and she helped with multiple Bingo Nights there also.
She cooked and served multiple dinners and meals, including the Veterans’ Appreciation Elks dinner and the Vietnam Wall Welcome Home Ride dinner. She also helped with the Seth Huston Memorial Run Poker Tournament.
Brenda loved to cook for others as a gift, and she cooked for weddings, funerals, graduations, the Wheatheart celebration and the Ochiltree County Junior Livestock Association. She started the Elks Angels Motorcycle run to benefit disabled children.
Brenda is survived by her husband Rocky Frantz of the home; one daughter, Windi Inmon and husband Adam of Dumas; one son, Ryan Phillips, also of Dumas; six grandchildren, Jadyn Williams, Embry Williams, Travyn Phillips, Jensen Phillips, Sagan Inmon, and Ethan Frantz; and one brother, Roger Vassar of Wichita Falls.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jeana Shaw.
