Duane Mounts, 91, of Perryton, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 in Amarillo.
A private family graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Perryton. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.
Duane was born on May 19, 1933 in Beaver County, Oklahoma to Samual Mounts and Nellie Rose Albright Mounts. He married his wife, Norma, on January 30, 1953 in Lubbock.
He served in the United States Air Force, and he taught in junior high school and was a teacher for more than 30 years. He was also a long-time farmer. He was a member of Community Christian Church in Perryton.
Duane is survived by his wife, Norma, of Perryton; two daughters, Cindy Bradford and husband Tom of Friscos, and Judy Rush and husband Jim of Liberty Hill; two granddaughters, Candace Edwards and husband Joshua, and Cara Bayliff and husband David; two step-grandsons, Austin Bradford and Derek Bradford; one stepgranddaughter, Kristain Brinkley; and two greatgranddaughters, Blayke Lindsey, and Breckyn Lynae.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Del Ray Mounts.
