Lillie Johnson
Lillie Pearl Johnson, 83, of Booker, died Dec. 29, 2024 in Amarillo.
Services were held Friday, Jan. 3, at First Baptist Church in Darrouzett, with Ernie Miller officiating. Burial was in Darrouzett Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 7, 1941 in Beaver, OK. She attended Darrouzett schools, graduating in 1960. She married Wallace Dene Johnson on Dec. 20, 1959. She attended Congregational Church and Friends Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She worked as a cook for various restaurants, and Twin Oaks Manor in Booker, retiring around 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Dene Johnson; and her parents, James and Zata Kemp.
She is survived by one son, Randall D. Johnson of Perryton; one daughter, Alice Babineaux of Liberal, KS; two sisters, Arlena Hickman of Lebanon, OH and Wanda Harris of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers, Vernon Kemp of Darrouzett and Donald Kemp of Dumas; two grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Twin Oaks Manor, P.O. Box 369, Booker TX 79005; or Darrouzett Cemetery.
