Don Edward Estes aka “Dee”, age 67, of Durant, OK passed away on December 14, 2024.
Dee was born on December 27, 1956 to Donald and Wanda Estes in Pampa Texas.
He attended Perryton high school. He married Donita D Kauffman a.k.a. Dee Dee on December 10, 1987. They lived in Booker, where Dee was the pastor of New Life Bible church from 1987 to 1990. At that time the couple moved to Pasadena California, where he attended graduate school at Fuller theological seminary. He earned his theology degree in 1994 after graduating from Fuller.
Dee and Dee Dee moved to San Antonio, where he was the chaplain of a private Christian school for two years. Dee went on to pastor a small church in Buckholtz Texas called Church of the Lord. He was there for three years when he felt led back toward the panhandle.
He accepted the position of senior pastor for Trinity Faith Church in Liberal Kansas. He was the pastor at Trinity from 2002 to 2013. In July 2004, Dee became the father of a beautiful baby girl Gabrielle Don Estes and then two years later, He was blessed with a son Trenton Dean Estes in July 2006.
Dee retired from the pastorate in 2013 and went back into the oil field, where he worked until he was forced to retire due to health reasons. In July 2022, Dee and Dee Dee moved to Durant, Oklahoma, where he attended Victory Life Church.
Dee was predeceased by grandparents Ed and Ruth Herlacher, Millard and Beatrice Lunsford, and parents Donald and Wanda Estes.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Dee Estes; daughter, Gabrielle Estes; son, Trenton Estes; sister, Tonya Estes; brother Doug and wife, Terry Estes; and several nieces and nephews
