Garlon Lee Jones, 76 of Perryton, left this earth on August 16, 2024 in Amarillo. A Celebration of Life and Memories will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Perryton. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton, Texas.
Mr. Jones was born on October 10, 1947 in Spur to Carrol Lee “Doc” Jones and Thelma Lavern Love. Mr. Jones worked in the oilfield for many years for Shell and Amerada Hess before owning Tepee Athletics in Seminole and finally moving to Perryton to open and operate Coast to Coast and Jones True Value with the love of his life Carol Jones.
He enjoyed fishing, watching the Texas Longhorns, John Wayne movies, bird watching, listening to George Jones and casino trips.
Mr. Jones is survived by three daughters Mischel Page and husband Tom Page of Perryton, Kimberly Goen and husband, Lance Goen, of Amarillo, and Shannon Eddleman and husband, Blake Eddleman, of Rankin; four grandsons Garrett Hiller, Tyler Barfield, Michael Hiller and Branson Goen; and four granddaughters, Brandi Goen, Kenzi Goen, Tessa Eddleman and Taya Eddleman.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife Carol Jones, parents Carrol and Lavern Jones, and one sister Carrolyn LaJuanna Thames.
The family would like to thank Dr. Siewert, OGH Home Health, Gloria Gonzalez and many other doctors and nurses that provided such extraordinary care for him.
