Donald Lamar Bishop, 85, of Perryton, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in Perryton. A memorial service was held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Victory Family Church, with Rev. Marlon Sparks officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.
He was born on November 13, 1938 in Marlow, OK to Lamar Bishop and Ayline Reed Bishop. He graduated high school and married Darless LaTrell Locke on September 5, 1959 in Dumas. He worked in Auto Parts Sales for over 50 years.
He was an active member of the Jaycees, coached boys sports with the YMCA, and served as Webelos Leader for the Boy Scouts.
He contributed his musical talent for events such as the Follies and People Who Care. He was a member of “Three Preachers and a Bishop” quartet. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and Past Worshipful Master.
He is survived by his wife, Darless; one son, Danny Bishop and wife Theresa; two grandsons, Ty Bishop and wife, Sarah, and Luke Bishop and wife Catelynn; two great-grandsons, Casen Bishop and River Bishop; one sister, Linda Kay Hibbs; one brother, Jerry Bishop and wife, Charlene; and his beloved nieces and nephews.
The family has requested memorials be made to one’s favorite local charity.
