Carl Ray Lee, 92, of Booker, died June 18, 2024 in Perryton.
Services will be held Thursday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Booker Christian Church. Burial will follow in Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 7, 1931 south of Booker. He married LaVada Viola Kerns on May 18, 1952. After her death, he married Marilyn Yvonne Shipman on Nov. 18, 2009.
He attended Perryton schools, and graduated from Booker High School. He attended Panhandle Agriculture and Mechanical College in Goodwell, OK, and later graduated from West Texas State College with a degree in agriculture. He also served in the U.S. Navy.
He taught math in Slaton, Spearman and Perryton, and was a farmer and rancher. He served on the boards of the Booker Christian Church, Equity Exchange, Federal Land Bank and the Booker ISD School Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter “Doc” and Dora Wakefield Lee; his wife, LaVada; and six sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home; two sons, Michael Lee and Jay Lee, both of booker; stepchildren, Vonda Brannan of Granbury, Lori Jack of Canadian and Paul Shipman of Marion; two grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
