Rettes win regional meet; qualify 15 for state event

The Rangerette powerlifting team brought home its ninth straight regional title after competition March 1 in Big Spring.In addition, 15 girls advanced to the state meet, and had 24 overall medalists.Several girls also broke regional records and earned honors.Ruby Ramirez broke the 114 lb.

Perryton High School art students competed last month in the Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) contest in Amarillo, with one qualifying for state.Senior Coda Dettmann qualified for state, as voted by all the judges at the event, and will compete in San Marcos on April 26.

Rotary pie contest winners named

The annual Rotary Pie Contest was held on Saturday, Feb. 22, with over 90 delicious pies and desserts entered into the competition.Bruce Roberson of Perryton was named the grand prize winner and was awarded $100.
