Ken Paxton wins statewide, and in Ochiltree County

Ken Paxton was the big winner in the Republican primary runoff for U.S. Senator.A total of 520 ballots were cast in Ochiltree County, 10% of the total voters. There were 508 votes in the Republican primary and 12 in the Democratic runoff.

The Perryton Police Department, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, and FirstBank Southwest sponsored a contest recently for artists from Perryton Hight School to design a new badge for the Police Department.

PHS holds annual spring art show

The Perryton High School’s annual art show was held at the end of the school year.The winner of the purchase prize award went to Coda Dettman for his artwork, “Forgotten.”He received a $150 cash prize for his work, and it will be added to the high school’s permanent art collection.

Children’s fishing tournament set for June at Lake Fryer

The Wolf Creek Improvement Board will host its annual Children’s Fishing Tournament next month.The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at Lake Fryer in Wolf Creek Park.Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Pavilion east of the Lobo Restaurant.

The Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors met on Monday evening in the conference center at Ochiltree General Hospital.Among other items on the agenda, the hospital board approved the purchase of a new ultrasound machine.
